".....
and HIS WORD WAS MADE FLESH"
by Mark McFeely, Master Healer
Ted
is a fire-fighter. About 80% of his call outs are to traffic accidents.
His fire truck has all that special equipment to get people out of wrecks.
Although he has rescued hundreds of people, he has also seen many die.
He didn't come to me because of a problem, but because he wanted a greater
sense of purpose. Simply, he wanted more out of life.
When he told me his story, I shared with him that when ever I came across
a person in a wrecked car, whether they were injured, or not, I would
reach in and touch them (physically or mentally). I would assure them
that they were not going to die, that they were safe, and that help was
on it's way. I would then hold them, directing healing energy into, and
drawing the shock out of their bodies. I do not have the training or expertise
of the emergency services, so I would just be there to secure and hold
them until help arrived. Very often, they are confused and dazed, and
afraid that they might die. That fear can send them into shock, which
is a common cause of death in those situations, especially when they are
frail and elderly.
My point was that by not getting caught up in the fear and the drama of
the incident, and staying clear, focused, and on purpose, one can actually
save a person's life. There is a lot that one can do to neutralize a potentially
lethal situation, and create new possibilities.
The very next day Ted had an extraordinary experience, which he related
to me on his next visit. He glowed as he told his story; He and his crew
were called out to an automobile wreck. At the scene, the car was on it's
roof, with the driver unconscious, suspended by his seat-belt. He had
sustained a head wound, and blood was everywhere. There was brain matter
on the back of the seat and on the driver's scalp. It did not look like
this one was going to survive. As the driver was maneuvered out of the
vehicle, Ted saw that look in his eyes. He and his colleagues had seen
it so many times before. The signs of imminent death were there.
Then he remembered what I had said to him about making a difference -
about opening to new possibilities. He did not dare to speak out loud
in front of his colleagues, so he looked directly into this man's eyes
and spoke silently; "Don't die. You are going to make it. Hold on.
You are going to be all right."
The crew secured him with boards, and strapped him onto the gurney. As
they lifted him into the ambulance, Ted noticed that the right arm was
not secured by the straps, so he grasped that loose hand in his. He again
spoke the words of encouragement, and was surprised by the intense energy
he felt pulsating through him into the limp hand he held so carefully.
As he drove back to base, his colleagues were in agreement that this man
was unlikely to survive such injuries. Normally, they would not follow
up on such an incident, but the next day one of his crew called the hospital
for news of the patient. When he announced that the man had been discharged
that day, the others had a hard time believing him. He explained that
he had asked the nurse to double check as this did not seem possible under
the circumstances. The nurse did check, and assured him that this was
indeed the same man they had rescued from the wrecked automobile. He was
discharged with some stitches in a minor cut to his head. Ted began to
think that perhaps he had imagined the severity of the head wound, but
his colleagues were quite certain that they had all definitely seen it.
They were all mystified, and agreed that something extraordinary had occurred.
Ted felt a surge of excitement along with an intense knowing. He allowed
himself to feel the magnificence of what he had facilitated by choosing
not to go with the old intelligence, and opening to other possibilities.
As he related this story to me, I felt goose bumps all over my skin, and
tears of joy welled up in my eyes. I am used to seeing and experiencing
miracles. I always expect them, and I am always moved when they show up.
I am so proud of Ted. He chose not to go with the history - with the old
intelligence that knew that man was going to die, but chose to go for
something different. He did not let go, or shut down. He made a difference
by speaking words that breathed life. He was more than a healer. He gave
life back to that man. His word was made flesh. Be inspired by Ted. You
can do this too.
